Scope: PHP Gen I, PH51W Heaters

Complaint:
Customers want to find alternative methods to operate the PHP heaters. In some cases, the operator may find it too difficult to operate the standard switches provided. In other cases, they may already have some other brands of heaters in their fleet and be looking for consistency of operation.


Resolution:

The PHP Gen I heaters are able to operate using a simple “+” switch signal feed.
This gives the installer infinite possibilities to operate the heater. Above are some of the options.

Important Notes:

  • When using an alternative switch wire source, there will be a 30 second delay when starting the heater.

  • There may be other subtle differences in the operations of the heater not stated here.

  • If eliminating the standard PHP 7-Day Timer, you will loose the ability to access self diagnostics.

    Corrective Action:

    Future manuals will be modified to incorporate these options. Continued research investment to develop improved switch options.
